Foley Hoag LLP is seeking a Contracts Attorney who will be responsible for working closely with the firm’s attorneys, the Assistant General Counsel and Director of Conflicts, Intake and Information Governance, the General Counsel, and the Chief Administrative Officer to support the firm’s critical risk management functions and operations by performing duties associated with contract negotiation, management and compliance. The Contracts Attorney will review vendor and other third-party contracts. The Contracts Attorney will assist the Assistant General Counsel with the negotiation and management of client-tendered engagement terms. The Contracts Attorney is responsible for upholding the standards of quality, consistency, accuracy, thoroughness, and customer service as defined and implemented by the Office of the General Counsel and will report to the Assistant General Counsel and Director of Conflicts, Intake and Information Governance.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the review of vendor and other third-party contracts, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements;
• Responsible for assisting in the development and restructuring of the Firm’s procurement and contract management function;
• Assists in responding to client and vendor due diligence questionnaires;
• Assists the firm’s General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel and Director of Conflicts, Intake and Information Governance, and Chief Administrative Officer on other special projects as assigned; and
• Contributes to process, procedure, and technology improvements to provide optimum customer service and efficiency.
Qualifications:
• J.D. required;
• At least four years of experience as an in-house attorney or as a practicing associate with contract review and negotiation and contracts management experience;
• Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills;
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with firm attorneys and business services personnel;
• Acute attention to detail, as well as organizational and research capabilities;
• Excellent decision-making skills and demonstrated ability to think on one’s feet;
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment;
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills;
• Ability to take ownership of multiple tasks and projects and work independently to resolve issues;
• Receptive to constructive feedback and ability to accept direction; and
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality of the firm’s confidential information.
Compensation range is $150,000 to $200,000 commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
